Holly Community ~ Holly Park; updates, splash pad, skate/bike/scooter park? use the rarely used back parking lot.
Ive seen similar ideas, however i felt i needed to add to and include my own input.
south-west barrie needs a splash pad, skate/bike/scooter park (like Lampman lane), and updates/upgrades. Over the past few years residing in the Holly community, Ive noticed on a regular occasion that the rear parking lot is rarely if ever used. This area would be perfect to create this splash pad and skate park.
As per the rear soccer field (by the play structures). ~ i have a suggestion to add a running track surrounding it (400m?). there is an un-maintained trail surrrounding the rear perimeter of the property, but it is narrow, overgrown and again, un maintained.
basketball courts: the asphalt is starting to sink and ***** in areas, lines are worn off due to heavy use and improper drainage during the spring melt from the outdoor skating/hockey rink. I think resurfacing and adding appropriate drainage would benefit the longevity of the courts.
The Holly community already has a great community center, however we need more accessible outdoor activities for our youth. Travelling to a completely different area of the city is unacceptable and for some an unattainable task.

I agree 100% with this. There is an entire soccer field in behind the Holly Rec centre that I have never, in my almost 6 years of living in this area, seen being used for organized sports. The other soccer field is the only one I have ever seen used. There is a major need for a splash pad/skate park, like Lampan Lane already has, in the south west of Barrie.
I agree with this 100%. The area behind the Holly Community Centre is largely unused and needs to be made into a welcoming and useful place for the area residents. We need more than just parking spots and grass!
