An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment The City has launched a new interactive tool for residents to suggest locations in Barrie where they would like to see speed cushions installed: https://bit.ly/BarrieSpeedCushions
Residents can use this application to submit a location, or “like” a location already submitted, for the City to consider putting a speed cushion in 2021. The City will collect submissions until November 13, 2020.
The submissions received from the public will be shared with Members of Council in January 2021 to help councillors decide where speed bumps should be placed in each ward in 2021.
Please visit www.barrie.ca/traffic to learn more about the City’s traffic control and calming methods.

An error occurred while saving the comment Your idea has reached economic development staff. The City of Barrie is current preparing a Business Recovery Action Plan to assist the local economy in coming back stronger and smarter after COVID-19 and is accepting public input until Sunday, May 24. Please be sure to also submit your idea by May 24 at https://www.buildingbarrie.ca/businessrecovery.
All ideas collected there will be included as part of the consultation process and reviewed as staff develop our recovery plan, which will be presented to Council later in June.

An error occurred while saving the comment The addition of the second “8A College Special” bus (which runs before the regular 8A Northbound around 7:40am every morning up Johnson Street) has helped, but Transit staff are currently working on additional solutions.
Staff will investigate if there is enough ridership demand to justify the need for adding additional bus stops onto the Route 100 Express near to Johnson Street and Georgian Drive.

An error occurred while saving the comment Staff are looking into a FOG cup and lid that our organics processor will accept. Currently our processor does not accept certified compostable products (such as lids and cutlery) because they take too long to break down in the aerobic composting process.
