City Council must remove Rob Hamilton as Chair of the downtown BIA
Rob Hamilton's classist and racist words are against the Code of Conduct he is expected to hold himself to. His reprehensible comments must be acted upon. City Council must remove him from the Board of the Downtown BIA.

@Nat Murphy - it's not an outside organization, the BIA is a Local Board, as created and mandated by the Municipal Act.
Nat Murphy commented
I don't understand how the city can even consider becoming involved in an outside organization's membership.

This is very embarrassing for Barrie and truly unacceptable. There is no room for outdated views like this - instead we need problem solvers to brainstorm positive solutions for our downtown.
Hamilton should be removed from this position.

As a mixed member of the community it'd be super cool to see gross folks like this get the **** out of office.

Some members of Barrie’s BIA are choosing to not accept the evidence that SCS that already exist in Ontario communities with high retail/commercial activity are NOT seeing a negative affect on their businesses. These communities are either seeing NO change or a POSITIVE one. Why is our BIA choosing to not look at the facts?
What’s extremely sad is he even went on to say how “uncomfortable” him and his wife were while they went out for a meal, seeing all of the people lining up to receive help from the busby center truck. Where’s the compassion? Oh I forgot the vulnerable don’t get compassion from people like Rob and his wife

Rob Hamilton’s Opinions are completely out of line with that of the community. Rob has to go.
Rob Hamilton’s comments were disgraceful, another black eye for the city. He should be removed from the BIA.

Rob Hamilton's attitude, words, and actions are inexcusable. He does not represent the views of the majority of Barrie's downtown business owners and should be removed from his position in the BIA

The BIA should find other ways to promote downtown than to put-down struggling people; Hamilton's comments are upsetting and embarrassing. It's time for change.
