Extend bus route 1 to include Truman Road, for employees and Christmas Cheer Charity
Extend bus route #1 up Truman Road and down Welham Road in a loop. There are several year round employees at many businesses that would benefit along with their customers. Additionally, Christmas Cheer, will be relocating to one of these buildings for their annual food and toy drive, without public transit donations will drop and many people who rely on this charity during the holiday season will have no way to receive their baskets, having to walk 800 meters to the closest bus stop.
Many people who rely on the generosity of our community and the work by Christmas Cheer also rely on the Barrie public transit system; and we need the access to continue to support the local community.
The City is asking residents to share their vision for the future of Barrie's transit network at https://www.buildingbarrie.ca/TransitVision . Feedback will be used to create a successful transit network that meets public needs, improves mobility and guides Barrie’s transit system as the city grows.
Please visit https://www.buildingbarrie.ca/TransitVision and provide your feedback by March 1, 2021.
