Speed Bumps on Letitia
I am a resident on Letitia street between Anne and Sunnidale Road. It could just be my opinion but I feel that many vehicles go well over the speed limit. This section of Letitia st is only residential with no businesses or stops signs. People turning onto Letitia Street from Anne accelerate quickly and continue gaining speed as they head towards Sunnidale.
I know that Kozlov street has speed bumps put in during the Spring and Summer months to slow down traffic as it is used as a by-pass instead of Bayfield street.
I feel that Letitia St is used as a by-pass route to get downtown and many drivers are not considering the speed limit of a residential area. Many families are outside, walking, yard work, playing, or relaxing and I feel that the speeds cars are reaching is dangerous.
So in conclusion I think that speed bumps on Letitia St would encourage many drivers to slow down.
The City has launched a new interactive tool for residents to suggest locations in Barrie where they would like to see speed cushions installed: https://bit.ly/BarrieSpeedCushions
Residents can use this application to submit a location, or “like” a location already submitted, for the City to consider putting a speed cushion in 2021. The City will collect submissions until November 13, 2020.
The submissions received from the public will be shared with Members of Council in January 2021 to help councillors decide where speed bumps should be placed in each ward in 2021.

Why you hiding anonymous? Worried people might think you are what you actually are?
No one goes that fast in this city Karen. It’s time for you to start paying for our police services privately. No more hand outs to you Karen’s where life is way too good to you

At least you have a sidewalk! Kids walking along Shirley Ave just South of you are right in line with traffic that we have clocked at over 100km/hr and routinely over 70km/hr. Barrie needs photo radar.
I love to hear the sound of cars over those bumps. Talk about a pain. Maybe more policing would be best. Not to mention the delays to emergency services.
I drive this city every day and never seen people speed. You need a life Karen
it happens all over the city I have a stop sign in front of my house and maybe one out of ten cars stop.
