save millions of dollars by switching to o.p.p
We've had two separate incidents of theft from our garage and driveway. From the garage 4 tools were stolen worth about $2000 total. Barrie police didn't want to file it because we had no video of the event so I had to file my own incident report. Second time, someone went through our car in the driveway. My partner went to Barrie police with a video from our Nestcam showing the perpetrators full face and entire body. We never heard back. When we lived in an OPP area and had a similar break-in, they investigated, even going to our neighbours to see if they had seen anything. If you don't record the incidents, your stats do look better.
Barrie police have failed to provide crime prevention patrols in my neighbourhood for many years (about 25 years). switching to o.p.p .would have saved taxpayers approximately 25 million dollars and provided valuable resources to help prevent or investigate crimes.
