    You have left! (?) (thinking…)
How important is this to you?

This hasn't been an issue for us the 20 years we've lived in Barrie. The city is responsible for clearing the roads in a timely manner.
Cities to the south (GTA) do not get this much snow. And very few of them clear windrow snow. Using Toronto as a comparison is unrealistic. 30 cm of snow and they call on the Army. Try comparing cities to the west or north of us. None of them do it.
Someone has to pay for this service - the increase in taxes for every homeowner would create far more hardship than the snow at the end of a driveway does.
I'm 71 and still manage to keep our driveway clear (with help from my snowblower) along with helping out neighbours when they need it.
