  1. Covid 19 relief

The relief is good I don't know how to apply myself but that's not my point my point is that the pole that need the relief are ppl you can't phone cuz they couldn't pay there phone bill or they can't get in the library to use there computers they should have someone down town offering help to apply for the relief maybe even file the paperwork if they are not overwhelmed as they will be at the beginning the ppl that need the help are on the streets cuz they couldn't pay there rent

    I hope there is something…

  2. Stop issueing parking tickets to non residents/toursit...maybe a warning for first offence

We come to Barrie to visit the waterfront, fish - we eat in your restaurants, shop at your local stores, buy bait support the little guys in the community. When we get a parking ticket cause we don't know the area rules to good makes us want to stop coming. A little common sense goes a long way

  3. Would like to see the women’s washrooms at Centennial Beach updated.no how water and hand dryers outdated and never work

Could have hand towels as well as add new hand dryers. Washrooms are very cold looking and should definitely be modernized. Thanks

  4. Garbage Pickup Family Teams

During the Covid-19 set up neighborhood family garbage pickup teams to clean up all the trash along the roadsides and parks, Have the garbage workers supply bags and pickup poles to the family crews. People are tired and bored of being lock up in their homes this would allow them to go outside and get some needed exercise. I see this happening in different communities. I do a lot hiking the outdoor garbage is disgusting.

  5. Spring Clean Up in Barrie-Volunteers should clean up outdoor areas.

Now that many people are unemployed, volunteers can clean up areas around the city. Particularly around shopping areas as there is a lot of garbage. City council should get the message out to employers & citizens for this weekend.

  6. dunlop mulcaster to owen

Not impressed with what has been done so far. Removing the turn lanes at Dunlop and Mulcaster will be a congestive nightmare. Big metal posts sticking up every 12-15ft is not an attractive look. The parking area as designed is more dangerous. Not impressed.

  9. Boil water alerts to our phones.

It would be good to know when there is a water main leak or something in our areas, as soon as possible to make sure and avoid anyone ever getting sick.

  10. Enforce apartments and/or condos to take action to restrict pigeon infestation\

Enforce Property managers of apartment building, condos, and condominiums to take necessary action to restrict pigeon infestation. Pigeons are roosting on roofs of these buildings and their waste is ending up on balconies. Pigeon waste is a health hazard and personal property has been destroyed. People living in these buildings haven't been able to enjoy their balconies because of this waste issue. People have been told that we should keep our balconies clean and normally wouldn't be a problem. With the pigeon issue though keeping balconies clean has become an impossible task.

  11. Only warm pool program in Barrie (RVH) just discontinued after 21 yrs. suggest Barrie run one of its community pools as a warm pool program.

Many people have medical conditions that could benefit from warm pool exercise and therapy. After 21 years the Arthritis society had to discontinue it’s program due to inability to get insurance requested by RVH. Suggestion is for the City to designate 1 of it’s community pools as a warm pool (90 degrees) and provide exercise programs to keep people who need this active and healthy!

  12. This suggestion is for the residents of Barrie - the City just has to continue to promote the importance of buying locally

In talking to people about the disastrous impacts of buying consumers goods from Amazon rather than supporting local retailers, I do not believe the vast majority of people have any idea of how catastrophic the long term impact of their shopping habits might be.
We need to buy local whenever possible and especially, we need to support our downtown retailers.
Here’s why I refrain from buying from Amazon-
Jeff Bezos, head of Amazon is one of the richest men in the world. Not only did he not pay any taxes, whatsoever, last year, but through all kinds of tax loop…

  14. Create pedestrian walking trails in Lovers Creek Ravine, Chalmers Park and D'Ambrosio Park.

A new trail through the ravine would better protect the natural area by keeping pedestrians on the trail system. Further, it would better connect the neighborhoods on wither side of the ravine, improving walkability and resident well being.

  15. Put no parking signs on Fox Run between Leacock and Hemmingway

Residence park on both sides creating only one lane for traffic to get through. It is an accident waiting to happen as you can not always see if there is on coming traffic.

  16. Minet's Point beach washroom and garbage pick-up

Could we not spend a few thousand dollars to spruce up the washroom at Minets Point? Paint, new sinks and toilets would go a long way. This is a well used park especially for families. If we are charging for parking - which is actually a good idea - we should be providing reasonable facilities.

If garbage pickup cannot be increased could we have more containers to avoid the overflow which happens on a regular basis during the summer months.

Anticipating a great beach season, thanks.

  20. Install more advance green lights at intersections, and restrict left turns to advance green cycles

Install more advance green lights at intersections, and restrict left turns to advance green cycles. Currently on many arterial roads throughout the city the only opportunity to turn left is on the yellow light. This creates dangerous situations as many vehicles try to "race" the yellow lights and thus conflict with left turning traffic. It is very common to see both near misses and accidents caused by this conflict. By shifting left turning traffic to advance greens this conflict would be greatly reduced resulting in decreased congestion as well as improved road safety.
