have a Nativity Scene display in Barrie to celebrate Christmas
Many Christians live in Barrie and there are many tourists who visit our city during the Christmas season. The City of Barrie can help celebrate the birth of Jesus with a life sized Nativity scene displayed on the Lakeshore or at Barrie City Hall.
Adrian and Authot. No it was not founded by Christians. Christians brought sickness and genoside. All the hospitals and schools were built by minorities practicing other religions other than Christianity

To Anonymous: The reason for this is that Canada was founded by Christians. Hospitals , schools etc. were managed by nuns and brothers.
Andrew has it right! Christian’s already favour rights that no other religions have. Why should they get even further special treatment

There was a menorah at the Lakeshore last winter. It is wonderful to see this symbol of the Jewish faith. There are many Christians in Barrie. A Nativity Scene would be a welcome addition for many people in our city. We live in a country of many cultures. Canada's history has many Christmas traditions. Merry Christmas!

It would be inappropriate for our municipal government to allow an installation that favours one religion over others There exists no shortage of churches and private dwelling where should they want to Barrians are welcome to express their religious beliefs as they please.
Barrie is a diverse place, and the City has an obligation to meet the needs of the people equitably.

I would also like a scene of our lord and saviour, the flying spaghetti monster put up around Newtonmas in the same spot. Can you relocate yours to somewhere else?
