Lower the vote threshold on this forum
This suggestion forum has been active for years now and I haven't seen any ideas reach the 500-vote mark. Clearly not many people are using this tool, so I suggest you lower the vote expectations or improve awareness. I've had a few suggestions crest over 100 votes, than stagnate, and than be removed. If I received considerable public support for my idea (on a forum barely any Barrie residents know about), why did you remove it? How many of these suggestions actually go forward? You need to improve this consultation process as I am loosing trust in the city to address public concerns. We need to be an innovative city - and this forum has innovative ideas! Stop throwing them away!
I think it should be kept as is of 500 to prevent voter fraud
Thank you for the feedback; the forum will be included in the next Rec Guide.
This forum is promoted on www.barrie.ca, city facilities, newspaper (select This Week in Barrie editions), and mobile app (Pingstreet).
Users of the forum are encouraged to share their ideas to help spread the word and garner support.
perhaps the city could advertise it in their rec centre guide and in local newspapers etc to create awareness, and also change the forum to show new first rather than highest votes first
Since the forum's implementation in November 2013, a total of 8 suggestions have met the 500-vote threshold.

Many idea statuses on this forum should be updated to Inactive as they have not had significant activity in over a year, but the forum is moderated as frequently as possible to ensure statuses are as relevant as possible.
As voters have up to 3 votes to use on each suggestion, a minimum of 167 voters must support an idea to move it forward: http://bit.ly/2pd4d54

Definitely agree, public awareness is very low, anytime I mention this page to people they had no idea it existed.
